Trained silversmith, Serge Mouille graduated from the Ecole des Arts Appliqués in Paris. He soon became a virtuoso in the art of modeling metal with a hammer.
In his workshop, set up in Paris after the Second World War, he developed a singular and distinguishable design for his lighting creations in which the arms are reminiscent of the legs of insects. His design first did not meet success; today his recognizable minimalistic style is unanimously praised by collectors.
