This exceptional desk was designed by Hans J. Wegner and produced by Johannes Hansen, Denmark’s foremost cabinetmaker of the 1950s and 1960s and Wegner’s preferred collaborator for the execution of his most important creations.

This example is the large President Desk model, produced in extremely limited numbers. Its rarity, historical significance, and outstanding craftsmanship. With its chromed steel frame, beautifully figured rosewood veneer, and remarkable proportions, this desk stands as a major work of twentieth-century Scandinavian design.
