The Royal floor lamp was designed by Danish architect Arne Jacobsen as part of the monumental project of the construction of a Grand Hotel for the Scandinavian Airlines System in Copenhagen. The whole construction was conceived as a, a total work of art, in which every detail of the building and its interiors is signed Arne Jacobsen.

The elegant Royal Floor lamps were to be used in the lobby, the lounges and in every guest rooms of the hotel. The cast base of the lamp mirrors the elliptical shape of the white linen shade mounted on a stainless steel shaft.
