Wendell Castle’s approach to design oscillates between art and craft. Acclaimed for his outstanding craftsmanship, Castle created pieces of furniture characterized by a strong sculptural dimension, with whimsical organic lines and shapes.
This rare armchair, created by Wendell Castle in 1979, features an original cantilever structure made with only smooth edges. This exquisite design is a testament to a deep knowledge of the material and a poetic approach to shaping it. Castle hand sculpted the backrest and the seat, making each model of this chair unique.
