Danish furniture designer Arne Vodder was trained by legendary designer Finn Juhl who later became his friend and business partner. From the 1950’s Vodder established himself as a pre-eminent Scandinavian designer, producing pieces of furniture characterized by a soft modernism and harmonious proportions. Simple and elegant, this sideboard exemplifies the timelessness of Vodder’s designs. Its subtle originality lies on the organic shape of the drawers meant to avoid the need for handles.
Vodder’s partnership with the furniture company Sibast led him to enter the international market, especially the American market, reaching numbers of public institutions as well as the White House.
